Step 3: Background & Environment
Choose the visual backdrop for your video — preset, AI-generated, uploaded, or a solid color.
What is the Background & Environment step?
The Background step sets the visual environment for your video. Choose a preset environment, describe a custom background for the AI to generate, upload your own image, or pick a solid color or gradient. This step is optional — skip it and the AI composes a fitting backdrop from your script and layout.
- Presets
- Pre-designed environments: Office, Studio, Park, City, Home, Cafe, Industrial, Minimal — or None.
- AI-Generated
- Describe your ideal background in natural language and the AI generates it (costs 3 credits). The image is saved to your brand's assets for reuse.
- Upload
- Upload your own background image — a real location, branded set, or any backdrop you already have.
- Solid / Gradient
- A clean solid color or gradient backdrop — useful for product-first or text-driven videos.
Configuring Background & Environment

Pick a source
Choose Upload, AI-generate, Presets, or Solid/Gradient from the tabs.

Browse presets
On the Presets tab, click an environment (Office, Studio, Park, City, Home, Cafe, Industrial, Minimal) or None.

Or describe a custom background
On the AI tab, describe your ideal background. Generation costs 3 credits and requires a prompt before you can generate the video.
Note
Custom background generation costs 3 credits. The generated background is saved to your brand's asset library for reuse.
Tip
Background images are only sent to models that support them. For models without background-image support, your background choice is folded into the text prompt instead.
