Best Practices for AI Video Creation

After thousands of videos generated through scriptmotion, these are the patterns that consistently produce the best results.

Script Writing

Do

• Write conversationally — as if speaking to one person
• Hook viewers in the first 3 seconds with a question or bold statement
• Keep sentences under 15 words for better AI voice delivery
• End with a clear, single CTA

Don't

• Write overly formal or corporate-speak scripts
• Start with 'In this video, we will...' — boring openings lose viewers
• Use more than 2-3 speakers per video
• Forget to account for visual timing (pauses for product shots, etc.)

Platform Optimization

Do

• Pick your aspect ratio for your primary platform FIRST
• Use 9:16 for all short-form platforms (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
• Keep short-form videos tight — most models generate 4-15 second clips
• Add captions using an external tool before uploading, or overlay them afterward — 85% of social video is watched without sound. Captions are not an in-product feature today.

Don't

• Ignore platform-specific aspect ratio requirements
• Pad duration when a shorter clip will do — shorter is almost always better
• Use the same settings for TikTok and LinkedIn — they're very different audiences

Visual Quality

Do

• Use high-quality product images (PNG with transparent background)
• Set up your brand kit before creating videos — consistent branding matters
• Use Easy mode for fast drafts, Pro mode for fine control
• Review every step's settings before generating

Don't

• Use extreme style settings on your first attempt
• Mix too many visual elements (character + product + heavy text + animated background)
• Skip reviewing your settings before generating
• Generate at max resolution before validating the concept

1. Start with 720p resolution and a budget model for concept validation
2. Iterate on script and style settings before committing to generation
3. Generate the final version at 1080p (or 4K on Veo 3.1 / Kling 3.0 Pro with a Studio+ plan)
4. Review the credit estimate on the Generate button before clicking
