Permission Errors
scriptmotion uses one set of roles — Admin, Creator, Reviewer, and Client — assigned to you per brand. If you see a permission error, it means your role on that brand doesn't cover the action you tried.
Role Capabilities
| Action | Admin | Creator | Reviewer | Client |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| View videos | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Review & comment | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Create/edit videos | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Generate videos | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Manage brand settings | Yes | No | No | No |
| Invite members | Yes | No | No | No |
Being a member of a brand is what grants viewing and commenting — no role can see a brand's work without also being able to comment on it. What the roles separate is who can change things.
Billing is managed at the organization level by an Admin, not by a separate billing role.
If you need elevated permissions, ask an Admin to change your role under Settings → Members.
I can't access a brand workspace
You need to be a member of that brand. Ask an Admin to add you — from the brand's Members section if you're already in the organization, or via an invitation from Settings → Members if you're not.
I can see a brand but can't create videos
You likely have the Reviewer or Client role. Only Admins and Creators can create, edit, and generate videos. Ask an Admin to change your role.
I can't access billing settings
Billing is managed at the organization level and requires the Admin role. Creator, Reviewer, and Client cannot reach it.
Admin is workspace-wide. Because your organization-level permissions are derived from your brand memberships, being an Admin on any single brand makes you an admin of the whole organization — including billing.
