Generation Credit Costs

How to estimate and manage what a video generation will cost you.

A generation's cost is the chosen model's burn rate at the chosen resolution, multiplied by the clip's duration in seconds. Three levers, all of them visible in the workflow before you commit.

Check the number before you generate

The exact credit cost of the configuration you have built is displayed on the Generate button. Change the model, the resolution, or the duration and it updates immediately — so you can price two options against each other without generating either.

Credits are deducted only when a generation completes. Failed generations do not consume credits, so a retry after an error costs you nothing extra.

Keeping the cost down

  • Draft cheaply, finish expensively. Budget models cost a small fraction of premium ones. Use one to check that the script, character, and framing work together, then switch models for the render you will actually deliver.
  • Iterate at a lower resolution. On models that offer more than one, the lower resolutions cost substantially less for otherwise identical settings.
  • Keep test clips short. Cost scales linearly with duration, so trimming a test to the shortest length the model accepts is a direct saving.

See Credit Costs by Model for the full rate table.
